Grassroots provides 24-hour crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and support to individuals and families with a mental health, substance use or homelessness crisis. There are many ways to help Grassroots continue to serve Howard County’s most vulnerable people including:

  • Sending a Financial Donation
  • Donating Food Items
  • Making a Meal
  • Helping to fill their Pantry

Visit the Grassroots Crisis Intervention website to learn specifics about their most pressing needs and how you can make a real difference in someone’s life.

The Howard County Day Resource Center, part of Grassroots, is in desperate need of volunteers: Monday and Wednesdays 2-6 pm, and Saturdays, 10 am - 2 pm. Volunteers do a variety of tasks including manning the reception desk, greeting clients, escorting clients to the Food Bank or clothing closet, etc. You can volunteer weekly, twice a month, etc. Details found at http://www.daycenter.org. You set your schedule for helping. Bethany member Connie Ford is a weekly volunteer and is happy to tell you about her experience at the Shelter. You can also contact Kathy, the DRC Director at 301-776-9900.
